Without your health, nothing else matters. Taking the time to make sure you are healthy is VALUABLE and important time. Standing in the way of your good health is processed food, chemicals, pollution, tainted water, addiction and one of our biggest problems, STRESS. It's no wonder you come home at night and plop in front of the TV with your comfort food - but you have to realize this is one of the ways you are kept "in line".

This lifestyle of hard work followed by being a couch potato keeps you tired and apathetic. Then they tell you, via the TV, that you're too fat. too ugly, too un-pumped, too uncool - so your mind is constantly messed with pushing you deeper into stress mode and a general feeling of not liking yourself or your life. If you buy more, you'll feel better. If you get tight abs everyone will want you. And of course the age old adage, you can't fight City Hall or One Vote doesn't make a difference. Watch John Carpenter's movie THEY LIVE and see this not as an alien invasion but the corporate manipulation of our lives (and in 2008 word came down they are remaking the movie with Carpenter on board again). We are the cattle who feed them, and they completely disrespect us.

It's a well orchestrated plan and nearly everyone accepts it as "life". BS. It's the world "they" have created. It's a world were you work hard for too little, pay too much even for junk, scrape to get by while they laugh all the way to the bank. Think I'm a conspiracy theorists? Or is that also what "they' want you to think? Big business and politicians have created a world of the have's and the worker bees. They disdain the worker bee, yet they would be nothing without us. We do the work that earns them the money and we use our income to pay them for the stuff we make for them. They desperately need us, yet we don't seem to know it. Watch this movie and gain a new perspective, The Corporation.

YOU HAVE TO FIGHT BACK ! And we begin with good health and good energy so we CAN fight back.

In some ways, what I am saying will sound a lot like snippets of what "they" are drumming into you, but remember half or partial truths is how they get away with their deceptions. The good news is, you can get strong again, the bad news is, yes it will require some work. Find a friend to join you, engage your family, then make it so. It's your life - how do you want to live it? Tired and sad, or strong, active, and hopeful the things are gonna change for the better because you are putting in the energy to make it happen?

INSTANT STRESS RELIEF:

Find a quiet place, even a bathroom stall at work if all else fails. Take a long deep breath 3 times in a row with your palms up on your lap. Inhale slowly through the nose and fill the lungs as deeply as possible, holding your breath in your lungs as long as possible, then exhale slowly through the mouth. Close your palms and sit for a second, letting the calm wash over you. It's amazingly effective.

FOOD Fuel your body with good stuff, so its a strong "machine". Eat as much unprocessed food as you can. Fast food is a TREAT, not a staple. Apples are fast food substitutes. Go to the store and buy one of every apple they have and find the one you really like. Then eat one a day, every day. Your colon will love you. PS: It's not about losing weight, its about giving your body what it needs to be healthy and strong.

MOVEMENT The best thing about the gas prices is people are walking more, riding bikes. Europeans never stopped, and they are more fit than we are. No need for the gym or the gym fees, just walk more every day and you will feel much better. Take the stairs and not the elevator. Just move. When you can climb 3 flights unwinded you're in good shape.

MEDICAL You need a primary care giver to call when you need help. Prepare in advance. This is the way of an independent person. Get your ducks in a row so you have less to worry about. Mine is an acupuncturist who has solved many issues for me after I became fed up with Western Medicine. Holistic and Naturopathic doctors are also a good option - they treat the whole body, not just your symptoms, and they are not prescription happy like most MD's seem to be.
