Money. American's worship money. Dream of it, plan for it, spend it like there is no tomorrow, and we love the people who have lots of it. WHY? Do they look happy or cranky and overly serious? It's an actual fact that people with less money are generally happier. So stop fretting about what you don't have and handle what you do have.
Your money is POWER. Where you spend it makes a business succeed or fail. Put your money where your best interests are. Spend wisely and well.
This recession (theft of our money by the rich) is very troubling for us all. Seniors losing their pensions. Workers afraid they can't provide for their families. Factories closed and nothing replacing them just yet. It's scary. Its no wonder we look at these rich bankers who have failed miserably not taking the blame, not saying they are sorry, but acting like spoiled brats as they walk away with their fat bonuses at our expense. And Washington politicians hire the foxes to clean up the hen house. it's surreal.
For now you have to watch out for yourself. Gather friends and family around and have house parties, and like thanksgiving, ask everyone in the room to tell you something GOOD that happened to them. Keep your spirits up and good things will flow into your life and protect you.

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.
Thomas Jefferson, (Attributed)

SHOPPINGJust buy what you really need. Shopping has become a drug anyhow and that needs to end. Have garage sales, swap for things you need, and spend your money with people who care about your community and the earth. Money is power. Wield yours well.
SAVINGPut $5 away every week is over $250 at the end of the year. It just takes a little to make a lot. Put it into your savings account and then pretend it does not exists - except to give you peace of mind that you have something to fall back on when you need it.
WATCHING
Don't watch the news everyday or you'll become extremely depressed. Remember they use fear to suck you in. Yes, things are bad, but being depressed on top of it won't help. Now is the time to think about ways to make extra money. Start a blog, a part time business, plan your retirement, figure out ways to live well on less.
